Winter in Maria Alm: Ski holidays, snowboarding & more

Deeply snow-covered Sonnenhof holiday

In Maria Alm

The peak of emotions shines in winter when you kick off your Maria Alm ski holidays on the Hochkönig. Your Sonnenhof holiday has something for all ages. There’s always action in and around the ski area with the best weather conditions.

Ski Hochkönig

Through the deep snow to the Sonnenhof

The wide ski area features an impressive 120 km of slopes connected seamlessly by 33 lifts and cable cars. Depending on the snow conditions you can go skiing in Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach from early December until Easter, on blue, red and black downhills. The predominantly wide slopes are particularly family-friendly, yet also lend themselves to experienced skiers and boarders. Paying a visit to the local ski school creates the perfect conditions for beginners, and the rental options by Agasport and Intersport in Maria Alm or Porti Sport in Dienten enable you to arrive relaxed without equipment. The ski touring variety is also a sight to behold.

By the way: Skilled skiers can ski directly through the deep snow from the Sonnberg slope to Der Sonnenhof.

Winter hiking

Snowshoeing

Many more winter delights await you around our ski and spa hotel on the Hochkönig. How about some tobogganing, a bit of cross-country skiing or ice skating? We can also recommend an enjoyable winter hike on cleared paths – quiet, romantic and wonderfully idyllic. Reach more remote spots with fantastic views on snowshoes. Borrow them at one of the local sports stores and start your journey!

Whatever your winter in Maria Alm brings, Der Sonnenhof has the right offer for you, your loved ones and the entire family. We are already looking forward to receiving your non-binding enquiry!
