The Hochkönig ski area is home to 120 varied kilometres of pistes for every taste, seamlessly accessed by 34 lifts in no less than three municipalities. One of the undisputed alpine highlights is a ride on the Natrun cable car in Maria Alm. Via the village centre, the 10-seater gondola lift takes you right into the middle of the small but fine Natrun ski area at 1,163 m above sea level and offers a direct connection with the Sonnenbergbahn to the summit of the emotions as well as to the Königstour. But there is also plenty to discover on site for enthusiastic skiers, hungry beginners and tricky freestylers.
Small but mighty, that’s how the ski area directly above Maria Alm can be summed up. There are “only” about eight kilometres of slopes at Natrun, but they are perfect for familiarising yourself with the alpine offerings at the peak of emotions. The blue pistes are ideal for making your first turns and getting to grips with skis and boards. Several red, medium-difficulty runs separate the wheat from the chaff and lead directly down into the valley, sometimes at high speed. Short waiting times, wonderful views and slopes that are often only clearly navigated make the Natrun skiing area the perfect warm-up exercise.

Here beginners familiarize themselves with tricky descents. An easy line with ski jump, boxes and wave track as well as the show jump for advanced skiers make you want more.
The night show in the Magic Area brings freestyle magic to Maria Alm every Tuesday. At the Natrun lift there is also a separate ski cross run for off-piste skiers and anyone who likes to be off the beaten track.
